Also known as a French roof, the Mansard style is a 4 sided roof with a double slope on each side which meet forming a low pitched roof with the sides being curved or flat. A Mansard roof can create a lot of extra living space, like a full attic or garrett. This particular style is not ideal for areas of heavy snowfall, ibut is very popular for the extra space and character it provides.
